Lemon Meringue Pie
I promised Susie that I’d try to keep this blog going, even though I’m no longer writing for the JPost. It’s charitable of her to think I’d continue to cook — and take photos — when I’m not getting paid for it… She should know me better. I’ll always continue to eat, yes. But cook???
Then again, there are birthdays. The family tradition is usually lemon meringue pie — since it’s so much trouble that it proves I love my loved ones. So here’s a pic of one that was baked for one of the summertime Birthday Boys (ranging in age from 12-80).
The recipe is a new one for me, and vastly superior to my old 1970s Better Homes and Gardens one. For both the filling & crust, use butter! Not margarine!!!!! Makes a huge difference.
I see you do love you family, but what about us lazy people who have to keep clicking to get the recipe?
It does sound delicious, though. Is it worth the bother?
Wow! Looks very nice! I wish I had it at front of me right now!!

I’m so glad to have found a kosher website because I don’t really know that much about it, looking forward to your future posts.
Wow! This really does look good. Makes me want to go out and buy one.
I want to know how you keep *your* pie from weeping. It’s the ultimate question for Lemon Meringue Pie lovers out there. Do you have a trick?
No, no tricks. Unless you count my following the recipe *exactly* as a “trick”.
I reaaly like your designs.

I like the idea of forming the meringue with cream of tartar BEFORE adding the sugar. It turns out to be actually quicker and gives a lighter result with more volume
This looks delicious…I might have to try that soon. Tanks for posting
That’s great, I cooked this yesterday and it was a big success !
While this beautiful lemon pie is best enjoyed in moderation, it makes a delicious treat. Fluffy meringue – haven’t had anything like that since I was a kid!
Thanks!
It’s very nice! There are good prescriptions on my side: http://desszert.eu Look at it!
